Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) Visa

The Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) visa will replace the subclass 457 Temporary Work Skilled Visa in March 2018.

Applicants for the Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) visa, whose occupations are on the Median and Long Term Skills Shortage List (MLTSSL) will be granted visas for four years and will be able to transition to an employer nominated permanent residence visa after a qualifying period.

Applicants for the Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) visa, whose occupations are on the Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) will be granted visas for two years with an option to renew for a further two years. Applicants with an occupation on the Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) won’t be able to transition to an employer nominated permanent residence visa.
