If police checks are required for the visa subclass you have applied for, you will need to provide a certificate from each country where you have lived for a total of twelve months or more in the last ten years.
Applicants who have lived in the United States must submit a State police clearance from each State they have lived in for at least three months in the 12 months prior to the visa application and an FBI police certificate.
FBI Identity History Summary
You can now apply for your FBI Identity History Summary electronically
Step 1: Go to https://www.edo.cjis.gov.
Step 2: Follow the steps under the “Obtaining Your Identity History Summary” section.
Obtaining Fingerprints
Applications for an FBI Criminal History Check must include a set of your fingerprints on Standard Fingerprint Form (FD-258). Whilst the Identity History Summary can be done electronically, the fingerprints will need to be done in person. The fingerprint impressions can be obtained from local police stations wherever you are currently located. The FBI has made available online the requisite form for providing fingerprints.
