**Partner Visa Changes Have Been Postponed – We now Anticipate They Won’t Be Implemented Until After the Election (at the earliest)**
If you’ve read our blog post about the forthcoming Partner Visa changes (and if you haven’t, find it here), you’ll know that the government has yet to set a date for the changes to commence.
In the last day or so, the Prime Minister has announced that he will release his “anti domestic violence” package including border protection measures at the beginning of April.
As the new rules about sponsorship applications for partner visas have been developed to vet sponsors who have domestic violence and child sex convictions (among others), it is likely the new partner visa sponsorship requirements will be included in the package or commence shortly after the Prime Minister’s release of the package (after all, the Act that created the changes is the Migration Amendment (Family Violence and Other Measures) Act).
To the best of our knowledge, we believe we have a month before the changes happen – that is until the end of March 2019.
If you want to avoid the changes (which we believe will also incur extra expenses for you), and you think you meet the criteria for an Australian Partner Visa, contact us today without delay, and let’s get the ball rolling for you. If you’re not sure, book a consultation appointment by clicking below and we will explore all your Partner Visa options, and your best chances for success
(And let me just end this by letting you know that we have already had 162 visa grants since the start of 2019!).
