  • The saltwater crocodile, commonly called a Salty, is the world’s largest reptile – males can reach a staggering 6 metres long! In fact the picture below was taken  by Maggie just outside  Darwin on the Adelaide River and this bloke is 6.2m long! He was HUGE!!!
  • The temperature of the saltwater crocodile’s egg will decide the sex of the baby crocodile – Males result from lower temperatures.
  • The saltwater crocodile has only two muscles to open its mouth but 40 to close it! They are very scary!
