A temporary concession will be created to allow applicants to remain in Australia to progress their visa, who would usually be required to be offshore (ie outside Australia) at the time of grant, will apply to the following Family visa subclasses:
- Subclass 309, Offshore Partner Visa
- Prospective Marriage (subclass 300) visa
- Child (subclass 101) visa
- Adoption (subclass 102) visa
- Dependent Child (subclass 445) visa (This is a Visa lodged for children where a parent has been granted a Subclass 820 Visa onshore, and the child/children have been waiting outside of Australia. Normally this Visa must be granted outside of Australia)
The changes will come into effect early 2021.
