CASE STUDY: Subclass 482 – Rapid 4 day turn around for visa grant!
We assisted Emily* in applying for a Temporary Skills Shortage visa in the PMSOL occupation of Accountant. Emily came to us after she had completed her studies looking for a visa pathway that would enable her to continue working in Australia in her occupation.
About Emily’s background:
- Emily is a Unites States citizen from New York and has been living in Australia for over 6 years.
- Emily has a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master of Professional Accounting. She completed her Master’s in Australia.
- Emily has been working as an accountant in Australia since 2018.
- Emily has previously been in Australia on a variety of visas, including a Student Visa, a Higher Education Sector Visa, a Working Holiday Visa, and a Temporary Graduate Visa.
Emily’s Occupation was on the PSMOL
The PMSOL list was released in June 2021 and Emily’s occupation of Accountant (General) (221111) had been added to the list of occupations being accepted by the Department of Home Affairs.
Soon after the PMSOL list was released in June, we started working on Emily’s visa application. We assisted her in providing us with the necessary documents to provide to the Department of Home Affairs.
We guided her in gathering references and payslips from her previous employers to verify her work experience. We also guided her employer in gathering important information about their business to ensure a positive decision on the nomination application.
The Nomination and Visa Application
On the 2nd of August 2021 we lodged Emily’s Subclass 482 Temporary Skills Shortage nomination and visa.
Only four days later on the 6th of August 2021, Emily’s 482 nomination and visa were approved!
The Department of Home Affairs provides estimated visa processing times. However, these are only estimates and some applicants may have their visas processed in a shorter or longer time.
Nonetheless, we were pleasantly surprised with a four day turn around for Emily’s application. Emily was thrilled with the outcome on her case.
